We recommend searching Stripe using the Groupdesk transaction number or card information (like last 4 digits). We have recently added some more customer data in Stripe. You can now also search by customer email address.
When a customer updates their email in Groupdesk, it will also update their customer record in Stripe.

The reason a transaction is declined can be found while searching for transactions in Stripe.
At this time, Groupdesk will decline to process a payment if the card number is incorrect. Travellers will be required to update the card information before they are able to process their payment.
Refunds will be declined if there are insufficient funds in your Stripe account
Groupdesk will automatically fail a transaction if there is something obviously wrong with the card information.
ie: a Visa entered starting with 6 is not possible as all Visa cards start with 4. When that is the case it won’t even send the request to the payment gateway but fail on the spot. Therefore, there is no record of the transaction in Stripe as it was never really attempted.
